Honeypots, rate limiting and validation running where nobody can see them. Bots fail, and a real person never has to identify a traffic light to ask you for a quote.
Who pays for the filter
The usual answer to form spam is a puzzle, which taxes every genuine enquiry to stop something the customer didn't do. On mobile it's worse, and a share of real people just give up.
Almost all form spam is automated and unsophisticated. It gets stopped by things a person never meets: a field only a bot would fill, limits on how often one source can submit, and validation on the server where it can't be skipped. A visible challenge is a last resort, not the opening move.
Every real customer you make prove they're human is one you nearly didn't hear from.
The four layers
Four layers, in the order they run, none of which a real visitor will see.
A field hidden from people and irresistible to bots, which quietly removes most of the volume.
Limits per address and per session, so a script can't submit two hundred times while nobody's watching.
Every rule enforced where it can't be bypassed, not just in the browser where anyone can skip it.
If a form is genuinely targeted, an invisible challenge goes in. A visible one only if nothing else holds.
Tuning it
Honeypots, rate limits and validation first. On most forms that's the end of the problem.
The junk that survives gets looked at, not deleted. Its pattern tells us the next rule to write.
A challenge goes in when the evidence says so, and comes out when the campaign moves on.
Captchas and false positives
Whether you need a captcha, what stops human spam, and whether filtering blocks real enquiries.
The rest of the build
A build is rarely one of these on its own. Here is the rest of what ships alongside it.
Proper SMS consent, validation and spam protection, so every lead you capture is one you can legally text.
View detailsSubmissions land in your CRM, calendar or inbox instantly, routed to whoever needs to act on them.
View detailsEmail and SMS alerts the second a form is submitted, sent to more than one destination where that helps.
View detailsLonger intakes broken into steps that get finished, asking the qualifying questions before the call rather than on it.
View detailsConversion events fired correctly, so you can tell which page, campaign and keyword the enquiry came from.
